ABSTRACT |
In order to improve fusibility and fluidity in the melting processes of waste incineration residues, ash compositions were adjusted by using basicity, that is the mass ratio of CaO/SiO2 and/or of (MgO+CaO+ K2O+Na2O)/(SiO2+Al2O3+Fe2O3}). Then melting temperature(Tm) and pouring temperature(Tp) were measured. When CaO/SiO2: mass ratio of the flyash from sewage sludge incineration(FAl) and from municipal waste incineration(FA2) was adjusted to 1, melting temperature and pouring temperature of FA1 appeared to be very low, but FA2 appeared to be high. On the other hand, the melting temperature and the pouring temperature of both FA1 and FA2 were the lowest when the ratio of (MgO+CaO+K2O+Na2O)/(SiO2+ Al2)3+Fe2O3) was between 0.75 and 0.8. Moreover, temperature difference) JT) between the pouring temperature and the melting temperature was the lowest when the ratio was around 0.8. The range of the lowest zJT was around 0.8 which was similar to the range of the lowest pouring temperature. Therefore, adjustment of the ratio of (MgO+CaO+K2O+Na2O)/(SiO2+AI2O3+Fe2O3) to 0.75 to 0.8 would be quite effective in improving fusibility and fluidity in the flyash melting process. |
